In Other Exciting News...

I've been chosen to participate in a NEW Wal-mart video community campaign! About a month ago I received a call from Wal-Mart's advertising asking me if I wanted in. The deal is, Wal-Mart is partnering with You Tube and will be offering a new feature on their site - just for you- money saving moms! This is set to launch some time in September. In the mean time, I am busy shooting short videos about how I save money. These videos will be available on the Wal-mart site. Wal-mart sent me (and the eleven other moms) a FLIP video camera from Pure Digital to help us capture just how we are saving money!

Just so you know...
These videos can be about ANY way that we save money and I have NO obligation to Wal-Mart (Read: I am NOT being paid). Although, as you know I do a post each week on coupon matches at Wal-Mart - so that is not OUT of the question.

I am really excited about this opportunity as it will bring a whole new piece to my blog - video blogging (or vlogging). I feel this will also help YOU as know you can SEE how I am saving money!

Another cool thing is Wal-Mart is having us make videos but they also want YOUR videos. They will be offering a year's supply of groceries to one lucky winner who offers up their money saving video (The Wal-Mart "eleven" moms can't win).

As I mentioned, I am one of 12 moms that have been chosen. We will be known as the "Eleven Moms." (Okay, I said 12 moms and we'll be known as the "Eleven Moms!" - How's that for value - 12 for the price of 11! =)

If you haven't noticed yet there is a green box on the left side of my blog now that enables you to print coupons without leaving my blog! It is the same coupons as you can find by going to www.coupons.com The difference....I earn a few pennies for the coupons you print!

Dinosaur Chicken Nuggets! For $0.03 (tax) YIPEE!

I went to Wal-mart today to see if my local store had the Fast Fixin' Dino Bites EVERYONE has been talking about on their blogs today, and, sure enough, my store has 'em for $1 a bag! So, I scooped up 4 of them (I didn't realize I had 5 coupons!) and took them to the check out. The checker lady really eyeballed my coups, but I after I reassured her that they were for this product, she scanned them, and viola! they scanned without a hitch! So, I got four bags for $0.12! (That's the tax in Georgia!) and she (the checker lady) looked rather surprised. I said, "I've got an extra coupon if you want one." Her eyes got big and she said sure, she bought stuff like this for her grandsons all the time. I handed her the coupon and then told her how to get some more of her own. She acted as if I had handed her a ten dollar bill! It was so funny!! I laughed all the way home about:

1. The lady's reaction to my coupons
2. That I just walked out of Wal-mart with 4 bags of chicken for $0.12
and...
3. How a grown woman and her husband will be eating dinosaur chicken nuggets!!! HeHeHe!! :)

I also found these great Kettle Roast Planters nuts for $2.88 which are great to get with the $3 off Planters coupon when I bought 3 packs of Kool Aid.

Cheap Formula!

:: For those who buy generic baby formula at Wal-Mart:
You can call the company who makes the formula, PRM, once every 30 days and they will send you a $3.00 off coupon for their formula.

Their # is (800) 272-5095

This means that you pay around $8.00 for the Wal-Mart generic formula as opposed to the same size of Enfamil or Similac which sell for about $25. There is no mailing list, so you do have to call every 30 days, but they will tell you that anyway. You just have to request a $3.00 coupon when you call!
