It is becoming very trendy to be "green." It seems everyone is talking about it lately! I have to say this is one "trend" that I am happy to emulate. With Earth Day right around the corner, what better time to pick up one new "green" habit?
I had the opportunity to review a product by KidsKonserve. KidsKonserve is a company that makes reusable containers for carrying your lunch back and forth to school (or work). They have lots of different options - the signature lucnch kit is a water bottle and two food containers made of food-grade stainless steel. It also includes a recycled cloth lunch bag, a food cozy and a cloth napkin. This kit eliminates the need for juice boxes, water bottles, and ziploc bags - all which contribute to our waste problem.
I got the opportunity to review the thermos - a food grade stainless steel thermos. It is great for carrying hot or cold foods to work or school! As all of KidsKonserve's items, it is very trendy looking!
*FACT: Americans will buy an estimated 25 billion single-serving, plastic water bottles this year. Eight out of 10 (22 billion) will end up in a landfill -- Container Recycling Institute
*FACT: A lunch packed with reusable items is typically 45% less expensive and contains 89% less waste than a lunch packed with single-use items.
*FACT: If 400 students (the average size school) recycle AND compost their table scraps, this is a carbon savings of 80 cars taken off the road. Source: StopWaste.org

Very cool - I've been working on eliminating baggies & disposable drink boxes (to save $ and be a little greener) - this would be fantastic!

Oh I'd love one of these. We actually have a few similar to this in a different brand as I switch our family over to all things green. With 5 kids, it's expensive so it's a slower process than I'd like.
Great blog! I just found you today and can't wait to dive in and read everything you have here.
