Family Night Give Away!

Entertaining your family needn't be a hassle or a budget buster! You can have a ton of fun without even leaving your house!

Going out to dinner and catching a flick at the local theater can cost a pretty penny, especially if you're taking the whole family out and you can't pass up the snack counter! Don't let that stop you from having a great meal and a fun filled evening though. Instead, treat your family to

Family Game Night

There are several things you can do to mix it up and keep it fresh! Judah is still too young to enjoy playing board games but I can't wait to implement a fun filled Family Night in just a few years. I've already got a ton of ideas floating around in my mind including:

  • Homemade Pizza and a movie all piled up in mom & dad's bed (Our homemade is the cheap-o Great Value Pizza Dough that you just add water to + lots of our favorite toppings and homemade spaghetti sauce)
  • Board Games with homemade "junk food" (popcorn, cheese sticks, potato skins, nachos, coke-floats, etc)
  • Indoor "Camping" - making smores in the oven while watching a movie in the living room in a "tent" (drag a mattress in the living room and drap blankets over chairs for the "tent")
  • Dinner Theme Nights and a movie to match - Pick a family movie and make foods that are related (either by name or ingredients or change the names of the dishes to match the movie).

There are many ways to aquire movies and games on the cheap - check your local goodwill and thrift stores, go to yard sales, rent movies at the Redbox machine for just $1, and trade movies and games with friends and family members. Many board games and movies can be purchased at Walmart right now at a new low price! You may have already spotted the Family Game Night Center at you your local Walmart.
