E.L.F. Make-up Update

For those of you who read the E.L.F. post earlier...

Yes, Elf is a real make-up and a REAL company... so your safe there!
However, apparently the $1 sale really wasn't a sale at all... it is always a buck.

Other info I know... it is available at KMart and though I haven't used this brand before others say it isn't anything to write home about. However, a buck is a buck and you'll have some new make-up to try without spending a ton of money.

Sorry about the mix-up.
As soon as I got home and read the info I removed the post to keep from having other people buy the make-up without having all the info.

That's so funny! I saw your post and bought 15 items- some for me, some for gifts and used the deal for 50% off...Then when I'm flipping through my freebie sites again, I see this.. Bummer!!! Oh well, a big bag of make-up and some gifts, no loss.

If you spend $20 you can get an additional $9.99 rebate instead of getting a free subscription to W Magazine. That brings the total to:

$20 in makeup
+ $6.95 shipping
- $7.50 CAROLINA code
- $9.99 Rebate
----------------
$9.46 for 20 makeup items (after rebate) including shipping!

NOT BAD!

Yeah, I wasn't happy with their make up, but some people like it. You just have to try it out to see if you like it. Personally I think it is junk, and it makes me break out.

I only bought lip gloss and nail polish so how can you go wrong. I thought it was a great deal with the 50% off code and I have some great stocking stuffers. Thanks, Denise.

A few months back I bought some eye shadows, mascaras, eye liners and lip glosses. I ended up throwing everything but the lip glosses away. The eye shadows were horrible and the mascara wasn't much better. The lip glosses were fantastic. I love the colors and they are worth every penny...sorry $1.00. If you look on snopes....it gives you the low down on ELF products. Thanks, Michelle

I'm actually really disappointed. I told my entire family and a few friends of mine and they told a few friends of theirs. Each person spent money on a product, trusting me because I trusted this blog. Now I have to go back and tell people that they might have bought horrid makeup due to me. One friend even bought makeup for an entire wedding shower thinking that it was good Nordstrom makeup on sale. I am really disappointed to find out that a deal was posted with information that wasn't validated.

ok, i feel gipped, but that's ok because i personally didn't do my homework. lesson learned, never assume what you read online is right.

Never the less, I'll continue to read Ms. Sawyer's blog. Love you Denise :)

I've purchased elf makeup before and have never had any problems with it (and I used the elf. makeup I bought at my own wedding.) I actually really like it. I guess if you're buying it expecting it to be high-end makeup, you will be disappointed. It's not miracle makeup for $1.

Apparently, though, this high-end sell-off thing has been going around for a while. I remember seeing it posted on another blog earlier this year or last year.

It's just my opinion, but I think their $1 makeup is a great deal, but like I said, I've never had any problems with any of it. I guess I should mention that makeup is not important enough to me (and never will be) to spend tons of money on it from high-end cosmetic stores or whatever.

I tried to buy the cosmetic bags (train cases) a few weeks ago when they were 75% off. I used promo codes, entered free gift wrapping, got free shipping, over $80 worth of stuff for $20! When my package arrived it had the gift bag in it and a lip gloss I got free by referring friends. The cases were sold out (I was never charged - I continue to check my credit vard too) So ELF just sent me a gift bag and lip gloss in a HUGE box. I was laughing for quite some time!
