Hi Denise! Just wanted to let you in on a little secret about the Honey Baked Ham company! Last Thanksgiving I was in the store picking up one of these wonderful hams when the person in front of me was handed 2 ham bones with tons of meat on them! I was puzzled! I asked the cashier what that was all about and she told me that they sell their ham bones, the ones that they cut the meat from for their sandwiches! See, they can only cut so far back onto the ham due to the specific pieces that they have to put on the sandwiches! Needless to say a few weeks later I wanted to make some soup and remembered that they did this! I went in...bought 2 ham bones for $5, carved the rest of the meat off of the bones (enough to fill a gallon size zip lock bag) and cooked one heck of a vegetable soup with the bones! They normally sell these bones for $5 each but all you have to do is just ask if you can have 2 for $5..they will be happy to do this instead of throwing away what they can't sell! JUST a little tip so that we can have this scrumptious ham any time of the year!
Darn... I missed out on the pamprin sample. It's already ended. :-/
