At Target, it is rumored that there were peelies on top of the Similac Advance blue cans of baby formula that advertise new packaging coming in the fall.
They will do away with the metal cans (perhaps for BPA issues) and use large, oval shaped plastic containers with a scooper built into the lid.
That may mean local grocers/retailers will put these "older" packages on clearance, just as they did with the light blue Similac with Iron cans, which can still be found on clearance at times at Walgreens and CVS.
So be on the look out! You could score some cheap formula - especially if you signed up and are recieving formula checks to use in addition to the clearance price!

Just a reminder to check expiration dates on those cans. Just make sure you can use what you buy before they expire.
My Babies R Us (Charlotte, NC) already had some of these new packages on Friday when I was there. I didn't notice any clearance ones though...
