This is the first of the Makin' Money Monday series so I thought I would start out simple!
If you are new to blogging... or just now trying to figure out how to make a little money with your blogging then you should start by adding Google Ads. Google ads are easy to get started!
First go HERE (Google Adsense)
and sign up! Its FREE.
It goes step by step and you can pick the kind of ads you want. You can do simple small ones, video format, ads with pictures, etc. You also get to pick how BIG the ad is.

How much can you expect to earn?
Here's a quote directly from Google Ads:
"The Google ads you are able to display on your content pages can be either cost-per-click (CPC) or cost-per-1000-impressions (CPM) ads, while AdSense for search results pages show exclusively CPC ads. This means that advertisers pay either when users click on ads, or when the advertiser's ad is shown on your site. You'll receive a portion of the amount paid for either activity on your website. Although we don't disclose the exact revenue share, our goal is to enable publishers to make as much or more than they could with other advertising networks."
My answer: NOT MUCH - at first. But hey - every little bit counts! Also, it is not something you have to continue to fuss with. Set it up once and leave it alone and it generates revenue all by itself!
You can check you status by going back to your account HERE
and logging in. Click on "reports" to see how you are doing and how much you're earning!
Don't expect to make a bunch of money right at the start.
Which leads me say, blogging isn't a get rich quick idea!

I couldn't agree more with this post! It is definitely something you should read if you are thinking about starting a blog. Blogging is fun! You should start one if you think you would LIKE doing it, not with the idea that you are going to make a lot of money FAST! You will be very discouraged if you do! But, if it is a lot of fun, and the best part...you meet a lot of "like-minded" friends in the blogosphere that are encouraging and helpful on your quest ...be it blogging or frugality!

Godd info. I was thinking of trying adsense on my blog and was wondering how it worked, so thanks for sharing. Every little bit counts!
So, can you register a blog and post ads on there from ad sense? Is that whatI am understanding? I have a family blog that is private, but I was thinking about starting one for any viewer about money saving tips and links to all you ladies blogs. So is that what they mean by "owning" the site?

Yes,
If you start a blog in wordpress, blogger, typepad, etc. You "own" it. So if you have a blog already or are starting one (either way) you can open a google ad acount, follow the steps, and make money!
I love the post. I actually have recently started up with Adsense but am having trouble getting much further with them (I have one small crummy ad and can't get past the 'account needs verification' comment) Thank you for the links. They will be very helpful to me!
