Stain Removin' Tricks (With Stuff From Around the House!)

Here's my Tip for Tipster Tuesday:

Gettin' those stains out is easy! No fancy or expensive cleaners needed! Use stuff you already have on hand!! Here are some ways to get stains out of your clothing and linens!

1. GRASS:
Flush the area with rubbing alcohol, then rinse! Apply with liquid dish soap and rinse!

2. RED WINE:
Gently dab stain with a white towel soaked in club soda, saturating the area. Launder as usual.

3. FRUIT JUICE:
Pour boiling water on the stain. (If it is a delicate fabric use warm water).

4. PET PEE! (EEww!!)
Soak in a solution of distilled white vinegar and hot water (cold if it is delicate fabric) for 30 minutes. Rinse garment, then launder.

Here's a tip on getting that nasty stuff off your upholstery or carpet:
Get as much up with paper towels as possible. Then, with a sponge, apply a solution of 1/4 cup vinegar, and 1 tsp of dish soap. Let if stand for 30 minutes, then blot with a damp towel.
*Also, I like Woolite Oxy Deep carpet cleaner - it works like magic! (Okay, so this one is not somethin' just sittin' around the house - but it does work good! :)

5. CHOCOLATE:
Soak the fabric in cold water. Dab with detergent.

6. INK:
Place a white towel underneath the garment to absorb the excess ink. Saturate with rubbing alcohol, then rinse thoroughly with slightly warm water.

Other TIPS:
*DON'T RUB OR SCRUB!!! DAB!! rubbing and scrubbing sets the stain!

*Treat the stain as quick as possible! Ideally in a hour or less.
